GOING NOWHERE by Joan Fleming
Polished the glass of the day and set it down.
Stepped around a piece of sky.
Shook my hand from nothing’s.
Out walking with no one and no body.
Angled the shade and shot it.
No wind blew and I opened my mouth.
Out came no sound but the bricks breathed redder.
Consulted the shrub.
Sky pale as a pearled waiting.
All feeling open like after.
Spilled the lot to the east.
